CUSAT Program
The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and the American College of Dubai (ACD) have formalized an agreement to facilitate the transfer of Gulf based NRI students from ACD’s Dubai campus to CUSAT.The initial stage of the program allows for 35 slots at CUSAT to be allocated across seven different engineering disciplines. Students enroll in ACD after completing their 12th Standard and achieving a score of 50% each in Physics, Chemistry and Math with an overall score of 50% in the Board exam. They then complete the first year of CUSAT’s four-year Bachelor of Science program at ACD prior to transfer to the home campus at Kochi.
Both ACD and CUSAT offer an affordable fee structure such that annual fees do not exceed 25,000 Dirhams in the UAE and US$5000/- per year inclusive of housing for the Indian portion of the program. Housing at CUSAT is provided upon transfer on a guaranteed basis for students enrolled in the program.
CUSAT is a premier science and technology university, known for its graduate, post-graduate studies and advanced research in applied science, technology, commerce, management and social sciences. CUSAT offers programmes across a spectrum of disciplines in areas ranging from engineering, science, technology, humanities, law and management. The pursuit of excellence through these programmes has given CUSAT national (NIT) and international standing. The University has academic and exchange links with reputed institutions worldwide.
The college focuses on first year math and science subjects for its engineering-transfer students and is thus well-prepared to support the CUSAT program. Curriculum and related considerations are being closely coordinated between the two institutions so as to ensure a seamless transfer for students who begin their university studies in Dubai.
The program will begin in the Summer Semester, which starts on the 27th of May 2014.
