Conditions & Requirements
(Following are the conditions and requirements for students requesting College sponsorship).
- Semester fees for sponsored students are not refundable once a visa is issued.
- Must have a local guardian if under age 21. A letter from the guardian stating that he/she will take full responsibility for the student while he/she is studying at the American College of Dubai.
- Should enroll as a full-time student (minimum 4 subjects) and attend two academic semesters per year.
- One year fees to be paid in advance. 1st semester by cash or current dated cheque and second semester by post-dated cheques. Continuing students must enroll and pay fees for the following year before the end of their academic year.
- Absconding students will be reported to the concerned authorities.
- ACD Student visa will be cancelled if a student withdraws from studies at ACD.
Visa Expenses
Refundable deposit after visa cancellation and departure from UAE - AED 2000/-
First year residence visa charge - AED 1450/-
Annual Renewal Charges - AED 1150/-
Issue & Transfer without Exiting UAE - AED 1150/-
(if required) Visa Cancellation Charge - AED 200/- Medical Expenses to be borne by the student.
Steps Taken to Obtain the College Visa
- Please forward passport copy, six colour photos with white background and visa charge AED 1450/- (if student is outside UAE) or AED 2600/- (if the student is in UAE and does not wish to exit and re-enter) plus a refundable deposit of AED 2000/- to the ACD Business Office.
- Five to Eight (5-8) working days are required for the visa to be issued. Please collect the original visa from the College at which point the student should enter the UAE with the ACD visa.
- Complete the medical test at a Government Medical Centre, with charges approximately AED 610/- to be paid by the student.
- Submit the original passport, new visa, medical certificate and three photographs to the College for stamping of visa in the passport within one month of entry to the UAE (processing time - 2 weeks). If the student fails to maintain "C" grade or above, (i.e., Cumulative GPA 2.00) the College reserves the right to refuse sponsorship.
