The proposed Bachelor of Business Administration major is designed for students interested in developing an understanding of the various components that together constitute a firm grounding in modern business. The study and understanding of management principles and practices will aid those who intend to enter the world of business as administrators, executives, operations managers, human resource managers, management consultants, and proprietor managers.
Students graduating with this management qualification are employed by a variety of organizations in industries such as real estate, property management, manufacturing, public utilities, oil and transportation, merchandising, and banking, as well as government and government sponsored entities. It is the college's view that a sound background in accepted management principles can accelerate progress to positions of greater responsibility.
Given the strong entrepreneurial spirit of Dubai coupled with the large number of family owned enterprises (from whom ACD draws many of its students), the program is designed to ensure exposure to practically all functional areas that would impact a modern business.
The degree is designed to educate students to a standard whereby they will develop:
- The ability to effectively communicate.
- The ability to work well in a team setting.
- The ability to handle complex, project-like tasks.
- The ability to evaluate business problems and to develop solutions.
- A commitment to ethical behavior and practices.
- A suitably broad understanding of the components of business so as to be ready to undertake entrepreneurial/start up initiatives and/or to successfully assume the reigns of a family business.
- A Bachelor degree level of managerial-related knowledge.
