The Community Service Club took part in the Clean Up the World Campaign in association with Dubai Municipality.
Clean Up the World is a global campaign that inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment. Held in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, it mobilises an estimated 35 million people across 130 countries each year.
Dubai Municipality’s patronage of the annual voluntary campaign “Clean Up the World” is a clear evidence of the pioneer role it plays in adopting unique community activities and events aimed at protecting the environment and instilling a sense of collective responsibility in the society towards a safe and sound environment.
The Community Service Club was very proud to take part in such an important initiative and volunteered in cleaning up the area around Umm Ramool.

The American College of Dubai hosted an annual Iftar for the children of ‘Special Needs Future Development Centre’ and their families last July 24th. The Iftar was held to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan and to support the wonderful work done by the SNF Group to help Special Needs Children.
The event was attended by over 50 participants including special needs students, their families and American College of Dubai students and staff.
The SNF Development Center is an extension of the Special Needs Families Support Group in Dubai. The aim of the Center is primarily to give special needs individuals the ability to integrate into society as independent, driven individuals. Having started off small, they now stand at over 146 members strong with the notable aim of preparing their students for daily life through personal management, academics and social participation.
At the Iftar, the American College of Dubai made a generous donation to the SNF Development Centre to encourage them to keep up their noble work and to continue striving towards excellence in their cause.
Suleiman Suleiman, Director at American College of Dubai, said: “We believe in being part of the community and fostering in our students the spirit of generosity. As part of our outreach programme we support the SNF Centre and our Iftar with SNF students and family has become an annual event that we all look forward to.”

American College of Dubai Holds Graduation Ceremony
26th March 2013 was a special day for 75 American College of Dubai students who were honored at the college’s graduation ceremony held in the Falcon Ballroom of the Airport Meridien Hotel. The event marked the passing out of the first batch of students to earn the college’s Bachelor of Business Administration qualification.
Award winners recog…nized at the ceremony included Aadil Sed, Hamna Arif Memon, Johan Kenmoe, Ranila Fonseka and Sarah Esmat Mohmoud Aly.
Certificates were presented to the graduates by Mr. Ahmed Al Shafar, Chairman of the Al Shafar Group which includes the American College of Dubai amongst its holdings. The commencement address was given by Dr. James Butler, Chairman of the Governing Board and the college’s founder.
ACD, located in the Garhoud area of Dubai, has been in operation since 1991 and offers a ‘two plus two’ university transfer program in addition to bachelors degree qualifications for students who wish to complete their degrees in the UAE.
